Bumps in the Oral Cavity
What to do about oral masses in veterinary practice
On-Demand CE Webinar
1-HR ON-DEMAND WEBINAR
Bumps in the Oral Cavity
Oral masses run the gamut from incredibly benign to painfully life-threatening. Unfortunately, you and I have not been given the opportunity to have microscopic eyes. Further, in the veterinary world, we understand what it is like to have limited resources, and often the financial aspect of our care may limit or alter what we know to be best for the patient. Nonetheless, many (in fact, most!) oral masses are entirely treatable and can carry a great long-term prognosis with the appropriate treatment.
In this hour, we will talk about the range of oral masses, what to consider preoperatively, how to get the best samples and consider what kind of conversations we should be having with these families.

Meet Dr. Donnell Hansen, DAVDC
Dr. Donnell Hansen, a Minnesota native, toured through Iowa, Minnesota, and Oklahoma for her various degrees toward board certification in Veterinary Dentistry/Oral Surgery. In 2009, Dr. Hansen joined other specialists to form the Moxie Center in Minnesota's Twin Cities which is now known as BluePearl Veterinary Partners. She currently rotates through both the Eden Prairie and Blaine hospitals. Dr. Hansen’s special interest is maxillofacial surgery, however, the truth is, she loves the whole darn gig.
